The real question is - when did the game switch so much that mixtapes became more highly anticipated than albums? Was Drama right to say not to call them mixtapes anymore but “street albums” because the material is usually more akin to what the fans want? Are they now truly more important than retail albums than ever in determining whether an artist succeeds?
